Two wind warriors are running for Councillor this coming October 20, 2025 in the St. Paul County , Alberta municipal elections.
Mark Mallett, the Editor in Chief of Wind Concerns and team member, Chris Habiak, are announcing a Town Hall meeting in Elk Point, Alberta for October 1, 2025 to discuss the crucial issues we face as a community in a rapidly changing world.

“Obviously one of them is the ideological battle we want to have more say in to protect this beautiful Lakeland region from become an industrial wind turbine zone with towers over a fifth of a kilometer high overunning the truly pristine landscapes here,” says Mallett, a former award winning television journalist. “But that’s only one issue. Whether it’s stores closing in St. Paul or families leaving Elk Point, it’s crucial that we look toward bringing economic growth to the region with some fresh, creative ideas.”

Habiak, a St. Paul businessman, agrees. “Along with standing up against wind turbines and protecting our environment, residents would like to see a change in Council, more transparency and accountability, fiscal responsibility, community growth and support, crime reduction plans, and new or improved infrastructure. And of course, good roads.”
Mallett is running for Councillor in Division 1 while Habiak in Division 2. They will make a brief presentation at the Elk Point Senior’s Center and then open the floor for questions and your valuable input. All are invited:
